Terms & Explanations
If you are new to websites you may appreciate some explanation of website terminology. We all have to start somewhere and at times some of the geek speak isn't very clear to the newbies and uninitiated.
A domain name is a name that we enter into a computer in order to identify a website or eMail address. Once a domain name is entered into a computer the computer will then query the Domain Name System (DNS) which then informs the computer of the Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) that the domain name is pointing to.
An IP address can be thought of as similar to a phone number where no two phone numbers can be the same so also no two IP addresses can be the same eg: +61 7 number would be:
+61 is Australia 7 is Brisbane and then the remainder of the number is the Brisbane/Australia phone number
